RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

I'm fine, how are you? Getting tired of all this work stuff, but I think its better than sitting at home doing nothing.
Looking forward to the fall and all the trips we have planned!!

RE: It's getting close...tailgate season!!

we don't get the Iowa games with the camper, I don't think they let pull type units in the parking lot. And not allowing people to stay over night next to the stadium.
we go to the annual race named the World 100 in Rossburg, Ohio. Sept is filled with the end of the year specials and we have plenty of them to go to. I will have to get the sat dish going so I can watch the games before the races when we are away. And get another Hamkeye flag for the camper.

RE: Illinois Fall Rally Sept. 26th-28th

Where is the heck is Marengo? There is a Marengo about 40 miles from me but its in Iowa. Oic it now.
Sept. is a busy month for us. Racing that is. A 5 day trip to Ohio for a race, a trip to central Iowa for a race at the biggest dirt track in the U.S., and a 2 day weekend at the local track.
Finally, I get some vacation!!! This means jello shots, apple pie, (the kind you drink) and dino pee. (something we created that goes over big with friends)

RE: Tree falls on new 5er

Light colored ground. Looks very sandy. Is there a pine blight that attacks the root system?

RE: Bad Mechanics and shafting business

Did you have to sign over the next child/grandchild too? Wow! If it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, then there are rats in the area. Your story reminds me of the two mechanics in the movie "The Mask". "Ripley Auto Finishing"
An overfilled crankcase will not let the oil stay cool enough and will cook the engine. Too much oil is just as bad as not enough.
Do you have something like Good Sam? Might have helped when the fuel lines rattled loose. Could try the Action Line with Good Sam and see if they can help get some or all of your money back.

RE: First Annual Iowa Rally 6/20-6/22 POSTPONED DUE TO FLOODING!

So how is everyone taking the heat? I get the chance occasionally to duck in out of it but when I drive the truck at work the temp inside the cab reaches over 100 some days.
Well I canceled yet another camping weekend at the last second. But this one is for a good cause. DW hasn't been home for a while (sw Iowa) and she has an uncle thats terminal and wants to visit. I elected to stay home and take care of the dog and cats and work. So off to Tabor/Glenwood she goes and I can watch the paint peel. I think I need a weekend of peace though.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

Anyone else have straight line winds and 2 inches of rain thiis morning? Firewood is just falling out of the trees all over the yard around here. I stood at the back door at 5 am and watched the camper to see if it was on the move with the winds and after a bit I couldn't see it anymore. Winds were around 60-70+ and rain came down hard. Camper never moved though and was completely dry inside. Other than the soft maple in the back yard thats slowly bringing itself to the ground and a few other shedding a few branches and the apple tree thats done for, we were good to go. The corn crib door on the ground is another matter though. Someone else will have to take care of that.
Sound like a good weekend to go camping Julie. I think you will find many servants to make your down time comfortable. Good luck.

Just tell him your going to get out the honey and then find the bear dump. I can remember stories like that from when I was a kid.
You could have stopped and picked me up on your way!! Spending the weekend at home or as much at home as possible with the work schedule.
Have a good time.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

Probably not doing anything. Need to take a week off from camping and get some home job lists taken care of. We have several places that we need to go anyway for the next few weeks so it is really gonna be hard to fit camping into the equasion. And, add in work 6 days a week and I will be ready to pull my hair out by the end of July.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

No, I think the property is dead end as well as the road.
Good thing you're gettin it fixed up Julie. God only gives you 2 feet and there aren't any donors or loaners.
I get to go in tomorrow and do the Barium x-ray thing. Sounds like it should be lots of fun! Did an upper GI endoscopy complete with biopisies last week and a CT scan still have to do a capsule endoscopy and more labs. Trying to pinpoint a wheat gluten allergy or something like it. I'm just tired of being looked into and poked. Maybe I just have the privledge of paying for some doctors new car. All I have gotten so far is the hospital bills.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

We had a couple frog soakers in the past 24 hours. 2.2 inches here at home.
Went to look at a property for sale tonight which was down a small narrow lane and lined with trees on one side. By the time my DW got the car turned around and started back up the lane the wind picked up and started raining and in a blink of an eye a tree broke off and blocked the driveway. Luckly one of the neighbors came by and went to find a chainsaw so we could cut ourselves out of this dead end property.

RE: First Annual Iowa Rally 6/20-6/22 POSTPONED DUE TO FLOODING!

Still need to get you together with my parents so you can convience them to go south for a little while in the winter. They finally went out with their camper for the fist time last weekend for this year. I think they should pack up when the snow starts flying and go enjoy themselves for a month or two.

RE: Besides screen dining tents and bug spray, what do you do

We get Skeeter Beater from our local Earl May Store. (gardening store) Comes in a small granular form and smells like moth balls for a little bit. Just shake in the general area that you use and the amounts of them are practically nill. For gnats we use Absorbean JR. (sp) The little buzz nuts seem to go elsewhere.

RE: First Annual Iowa Rally 6/20-6/22 POSTPONED DUE TO FLOODING!

Well it looks like the times are really filling up for everyone so how about we just hold off til sometime in the fall.
I can understand how everyones schedule fills up as ours is too. Looks like we all will need some quiet time after the summer of 2008.
I hope everyone has a fun time during the onth of July!!!

RE: First Annual Iowa Rally 6/20-6/22 POSTPONED DUE TO FLOODING!

Sorry, once again - our computer is down!
We stopped out at the campground this weekend. They do have July 18-20 available. The beach is still closed but the boat ramp is now open. We would like to get a count of people who can attend July 18-20 so we can get spots reserved. We hope this one goes better than the last!
we look forward to seeing you!

RE: Nuisance Animals on the Mik Farm. . .

Are there any other critters out running around at night that you might not want to kill? If not then some granulated fly poison laid out will dispatch them. Its sweet and most animals will take to it quickly. Same with common antifreeze and I have heard that coke mixed with fly spray (i.e. Raid) and set out in a dish will kill pesky critters fast too.

Actually I was kind of looking at July 18-19-20. I have yet to check the sites but My weekends are all pretty full after that.
Anyone else have any input on the matter?

RE: Increasing tow capacity

Just keep the knob off the radio and put something stronger around it. You could add mods until you could have afforded a new 1 ton diesel. Your still won't have the performance you want.
